SIM STAR: SUZAN KARDONG-EDGREN

Suzie and Anthony

Suzan Kardong-Edgren is a Nurse Scientist at Texas Health Resources, Harris Methodist Hospital Ft. Worth with a remarkable career in the nursing and medical simulation fields. She is a faculty member of the Center for Medical Simulation, and previously was the Director of the RISE Center at Robert Morris University in Moon Township, Pa. for five years, and Editor in Chief of Clinical Simulation in Nursing, published by Elsevier Publishing, for 10 years.

Additionally, during her time at the RISE Center, Kardong-Edgren founded SimPOW, a professional organization of healthcare simulation professionals in the Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia tri-state area.

We are thrilled to present Kardong-Edgren as the first ever Sim Star. In her simulation classrooms, Kardong-Edgren seeks to establish a culture of curiosity, which she says allows students to, "focus on their learning, and not my teaching."

Thanks for being a Sim Star, Suzan Kardong-Edgren!
