An Update From Anthony Battaglia

Last updated: April 8, 2020

To our valued customers,

As a nurse owned and operated company, we understand the importance of carefully dealing with a new virus and the accompanying unknowns.

Pocket Nurse® is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for our employees and helping our customers to do the same. As such, we are closely monitoring the ongoing COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic according to the guidelines and recommendations of the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). We want to share with you the actions we are taking to help protect our employees and customers.

The health and safety of our employees is our primary concern. In that light, Pocket Nurse has suspended all international and domestic travel until further notice. This decision comes after we, as an organization, evaluated potential risks of exposure to the virus.  Additional guidance for travel and meetings will be determined and provided as the situation changes.  Virtual meetings are still being scheduled, and employees will be working remotely as needed, responding to phone calls, emails, and social media messages.

Our sales team is working remotely and we have a limited customer service team in the office to answer questions, prepare quotes, and take orders.  You can also email cs@pocketnurse.com or info@pocketnurse.com. All orders will continue to be processed into our system. In an effort to promote social distancing, our shipping and distribution headquarters, located in Monaca, Pennsylvania, are open with a reduced staff. While we are working very hard to process orders and returns in a timely manner, know that your patience is greatly appreciated.

Subsequent to the pandemic, the global supply chain is being impacted and changing daily. We are currently adapting to find ways to identify specific supply risks and actively manage them. Solutions will be found to mitigate the impact of any coronavirus-related supply risks. We also understand that, with schools and universities closing and moving to virtual classrooms, your need for product may be temporarily reduced.

Due to increased demand for PPE (personal protective equipment) products, we are out of stock on most items. I want to assure you that we are working closely with our manufacturers to add more stock whenever possible.  This said, it may be advisable for schools to postpone the instruction of PPE and related instruction. As a reminder, Pocket Nurse products are not for clinical use and are solely distributed for instructional reasons.

All products shipped to our customers are for learning purposes and not for actual human or animal use. This said, we cannot promote the use of these products in real clinical settings. However, we defer to the manufacturer indications for usage and if you choose to follow them, Pocket Nurse bears no assumption of risk and any consequences of that usage shall be directed only to the manufacturer.

We appreciate the trust that you place in Pocket Nurse. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and take actions necessary to help keep our employees safe while providing the products and services you need to teach.

Thank you for your patience while we work through this unknown, unprecedented, and quickly changing situation.

Regards,

Anthony Battaglia MS, BSN, RN

President, Pocket Nurse
